Mock Draft Edition 1.0

As the 2023 NFL Draft approaches (starts April 27th), jayport is proud to unveil a new weekly series called Mock Draft Monday. For today’s mock draft (1.0), I will give you my take on the first 10 picks of the NFL Draft. It is important to note that I will not be considering trades on draft day. Please feel free to leave your feedback on whether you agree or disagree with some of my picks. I will be providing brief explanations for each selection.

1) Panthers: CJ Stroud (QB)

- the Panthers have expressed significant interest in the Ohio State QB.

2) Texans: Bryce Young (QB)

- the Texans have been heavily linked to Alabama star who fills a hole left by Deshaun Watson’s departure.

3) Cardinals: Will Anderson Jr. (Edge)

- the Cardinals find a better JJ Watt replacement - Anderson will be coveted by defensive minded Jonathan Gannon.

4) Colts: Anthony Richardson (QB)

- Shane Steichen will love Richardson because of how he resembles another version of Jalen Hurts with his insane athleticism.

5) Seahawks: Jalen Carter (DL)

- Carter is very possibly the best player in the draft however allegations filed against him could hurt his draft stock.

6) Lions: Tyree Wilson (Edge)

- corner would’ve made sense here, however the Lions signed Cam Sutton to fill that role - Tyree Wilson adds even more talent to the Lion’s defense.

7) RAIDERS: Will Levis (QB)

- even though the RAIDERS signed Jimmy G, they could use him as a bridge QB to develop young star Will Levis.

8) Falcons: Miles Murphy (DL)

- the Falcons have used most of their past first round picks to address their offense. Here they decided to upgrade a lackluster 2022 rush defense.

9) Bears: Peter Skoronski (OT)

- the Bears must continue to protect franchise QB Justin Fields.

10) EAGLES: Christian Gonzalez (CB)

- the EAGLES lost a ton of free agents, and no group took a larger hit than their secondary. Christian Gonzalez softens the blow.
