You saw the title. It's gonna get crazy. Some of these picks ARE crazy, but hey, no one knows what’s gonna happen next season. The following are players to keep an eye on for some of the NFL’s most prestigious awards in 2024. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Most Valuable Player (MVP): Justin Fields (QB)

Let’s start it off with a bang. I know, “Justin Fields over Mahomes or Hurts or anyone else in the league???” First hear me out. Field was electric with the ball in his hands last year and played on the least talented offense in the NFL no question. However, this offseason has loaded the Bears offense with a ton of talent. Not only did they sign a top 15 receiver in the league in DJ Moore, but they also took huge strides to fixing an offensive line that allowed a league-leading 55 sacks this past season. Here were some of their additions: DJ Moore, Nate Davis, and Darnell Wright. The addition of these 3 free agents will create an atmosphere where Fields will ball out.

Offensive Player of the Year (OPOY): Saquon Barkley (RB)

I firmly believe that Barkley’s comeback season campaign last year was only scratching the surface of what he can become in a Brian Daboll offense. In addition, the Giants added tons of pieces to their offense in the offseason. They added John Michael Schmitz to fill the hole they had at center. Additionally, I think that if Evan Neal takes a huge step up, like Andrew Thomas did in year 2, it will go a long way to helping Barkley. Receiving additions such as Jalin Hyatt and Parris Campbell will also help to lighten the heavy front that Barkley often faces. I firmly believe that Barkley could become the best running back in the league next year.

Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY): Nick Bosa (DE)

Can Bosa repeat as Defensive Player of the Year? I think he can, especially given the addition of stud Javon Hargrave to the already talented 49ers defensive line. The addition of Hargrave will give Bosa an uber-talented defensive tackle that has never been in San Francisco in the Nick Bosa era. Unlike stud receivers who can take away from each other’s production, the dual threat of Hargrave and Bosa will open up even more opportunities for both which will in turn fuel a dominant 23’-24’ for Bosa.

Offensive Rookie of the Year (OROY): Anthony Richardson (QB)

This is a fun one. Richardson has boom or bust potential and I think he can become a stud in this league early. Yes, it may be a stretch to put him over some of the other extremely talented QBs that were taken in this year's draft, such as Bryce Young or CJ Stroud, but Richardson definitely has a much higher ceiling than both of them. In addition, I think Richardson has the perfect situation to thrive under. The Colts have a head coach (Shane Stichen) who was the offensive coordinator during Jalen Hurts’ breakout season last year. I believe that he is one of the best suited in the league to develop a mobile QB like Richardson. In addition, the Colts have a decent amount of weapons on their offense. Johnathan Taylor is the perfect running back to take some of the initial pressure away from Richardson and Michael Pittman Jr. is a big body receiver who can win contested catches deep. Richardson is going to be fun to watch next year.

Defensive Rookie of the Year (DROY): Nolan Smith (EDGE)

This might be the most crazy one here, but hear me out. The Eagles defensive line is stacked, we know that. What’s really interesting though is that Smith has nearly an identical athletic and physical profile to Eagles edge Haason Reddick: both are around 6 feet 2 in, 240 pounds, and are athletic freaks. Reddick thrived under Philadelphia's defense last year posting 16 sacks. With the talent around him, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Smith absolutely balled out.
